My head hurts right now after finishing this book. It's a very good thing, trust me. The level of mind fucking this author  does to the reader is just ..... Damn. Really. Damn. For the first time, I had to put it down, go drink a glass of water and come back to it. Lol, I wasn't leaving it alone for more than that, silly.
Anna's journey takes her to new highs and soul-crushing lows. I have to admit to crying for her more than once. Alex has definitely proven himself above and beyong what I expected. And Devin and his crew ... Well, those just reached new levels of fuckedup-ness. As dark as this series is, this book is just as dark as the rest, if not more in the sense that I found it to be more of a mindfuck than the first two.  It's stunning, entrancing writing that just sinks into every nook and cranny of the reader's mind. The emotions are so vivid, sometimes they sucker punch you with the intensity.
If you love the ultra dark erotica, this should be right up your alley. If you are squeamish, sensitive, a hopeless romantic, puke easily (yup), and find gore distasteful, then look the other way. I'd still recommend it to you anyway, just maybe sleep with a teddy bear or a big strong man to hold you afterwards. Or have someone read it to you. Or read during the daylight. You get the idea.... It's another masterpiece that must be read by Marissa.

Warning: Cliffhanger ahead following an obnoxious amount of triggers.

Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story that is now known as "The Life of Anna." She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream.

When she's not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. She enjoys chocolate, air conditioning in the desert's summer heat, really good strawberry margaritas, sleeping, and shopping.
